TWO Special Projects
JJS Freight has recently completed two special projects with an established customer.
The first job was to collect 24,000 50 gallon drums of the chemical Glycerine from Shanghai, China and move it as fast and as safely as possible to the Russian Federation. This first shipment meant coordinating 300 containers into a single load to transport the 24,000 drums.
The other was moving 200 elevators from Shanghai, China to Mombasa, Kenya and Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania in Africa. This special project was unique in that the crates were transported in 150 containers and moved on the same vessel.
The drums on pallets at our facility in Dubai.
Each pallet load of drums was loaded into 14 forty-foot containers and moved one container at a time to the port of Singapore. From then it moved again to Dubai and again on to Bader Abbas in Iran before being transported by road to its final destination inthe CIS.
The crates of Elevators were loaded into 150 x 10m containers one by one.
Our goal was to load the containers and make the direct ship sailing on February 2nd. This magnificent effort was achieved on time and under budget. The sailing time was 14 days from Dubai to Mombasa, Kenya, and everything went off without a problem.
On arrival at Mombasa Port our own JJS office agent took over and completed the onward journey to its new destination. On arrival it took 3 days to unload all 150 containers and completely install the framework for the elevators at the local facility.
JJS was proud to have been the cargo carrier of choice for our customer and look forward to moving their special projects cargo in the future.
